I Start On a Journey

(Written in May of 2003)

I start on a journey
no turning back.
For once I will finish
what I start.

A labour of love
yanked from the depths
of my heart - written
in my own blood.

A piece of myself
vulnerable, exposed;
put out into the harsh
fluorescent light of reality.

*POP* my bubble
put me on the table
judge me, mock me, condemn me
tell me I don't have it.

That's okay because
I'll try anyways.
I'll put the best I have
into reaching my destination.
