I Spoke To Your Stone

I was surprised at how much
my heart ached
speaking to a stone
touching granite or marble
I’m not even sure.
I could see your face
tell you how the world has been
since your body grew tired
and left me your memory.
Tears flowed from a depth
I never thought I had
until you were gone.
I was surprised at how much
I missed you, so
I spoke to your stone.
