I Smell Snow

As she lies awake she can smell the air. Cold and calm. Peaceful. She hurries to her door. She runs to the street and inhales. I smell snow. Her favorite time of year. The lights and decorations. The glistening of the snow. Everything brighter. Prettier. She takes a deep breath. Then it snows. She stood there smiling. She watched the snow come down. Playing in the air. Each snowflake falling. She breathed in. Life was always better with snow. Hot chocolate and movies. Friends by the fireplace. Scarfs, touques and mittens. Everything was right in her world. She smelled snow.

A very beautiful written poem, snow is something that each and every person loves, except people of higher age as it s difficult for them to bare the weather, but still it s the best part of year, playing with snow, talking, slippering, etc all is really fun and you ve written all this beautifully, it appears that you re new here so I should welcome you to poetrysoup. I m sure that you re going to live your long stay here, good luck and continue to write

Thank you so much. This was inspired by one of my favorite TV Shows Gilmore Girls. When ever it is about to snow Lorelai would run to the street and say I smell snow. Moments after it would start snowing. I know it is TV magic but it is still one of my favorite moments. You could feel how happy Lorelai was once the snow started.
