I Slipped On a Teardrop

I Slipped On A Teardrop... I slipped on a teardrop and landed deep inside a pond, After which I understood where all those teardrops do abscond; The pond was huge and salty with tears of all kinds, Some of little babies and some of lonely minds; Some were of silly people crying in front of TV sets, While there were other tears of loss and true regret; I swam and swam around till I was drenched in all those tears, It was then I saw those pearl drops of value very dear; A lady's tears flowing freely for that lost son and his ways, Another man's crystal cries, seeking for his friend, God's grace; Teardrops are a part of life and sometimes deemed necessary, But in that pond, the best, I'm sure, are those tears intercessory; I slipped on a teardrop and landed deep inside a pond, And believe it or not, there I learnt they have a life beyond. ------------------------------------ 20th June, 2016 {Psalm 56:8 - Thou(God) tellest my wanderings: put Thou my tears into Thy bottle: are they not in Thy book?}

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes" (Revelation 21:4). Lovely, thoughtful meditation on the sadness in and around us, Jo. Love the use of the underused word, abscond.

wow, you really did an amazing take on this topic, Jo. And that quote is so cool at the bottom. I had not heard that one . well i must have read it in the day when I was reading Bible more, but don't recall that tear quote.

Wonderful take on the theme, Jo. So many kinds of tears...and the 'pearls'...when we shed them on behalf of others for God's help. Best wishes for the contest. Hugs, Sandra
