I Sit and Wish I Was a Kid Again
As bill’s begin, to create a mountain
My son also creates a fort out of them as well
My wife is worried in tears as she goes into work
I lost my job, so I am Mr. Daddy day care today
As my son whom is 3 years old poops with a smile
I smile back and I sit and wish I was a kid again.
No worries of a wonder, just smiles of fun
Cartoons and video games and sticky sweets
Bicycle riding and play grounds with monkey bars
Movies and popcorn and a soda pop was a treat
Late night dreams linked to fairy tales of animals
I sit and wish I was a kid again.
As the night comes and my son is fast asleep
My wife is sleep faced in her work at her desk as well
I tip toe to the living room and turn on the tele
Tip toe to the kitchen and grab a big bowl and spoon
Grab my favorite cereal “Waffle Crisp”
Then the milk rains down onto the spoon.
I sit and wish I was a kid again.
