I See You In Your Innocence

I see you in your innocence.
In the rain you sat and banged your drums and mimed your song.
Your smile was pure enjoyment. Of loving life that had really just begun.
You caught me as your head turned though in your innocence you remained alone.

I see you in your innocence. You can’t wait to live your dream. The world is there for you to take it. With eyes so full of wonder. Your smile is without life’s plunder. No scars of broken dreams.

I see you in your innocence. I remember when I knew innocence of my own. I see you in your innocence. I’ll never forget seeing that moment of freedom, of pure joy when you banged your drums and sang your song. I hope that life lets you win. I hope your innocence lives in your song.
