''I See Myself a Tree''

* I am slipping into a dream, I am in a forest of trees so beautiful and I see myself a tree, my roots deep in the earth my branches raised to the sun. I am strength and I am courage. A river flows past me like a stream of glass. I am tranquility and serenity. The winds are whistling through my weeping leaves like a violin crying and echoing in the forest. I gave to life all the soul I had in me, all the tears, trembling, throbbing- and all the pain fell as Autumn leaves. My pain drifted away in red, and orange decay I rested under the sun and placed on a cloak of pure white beauty, then in the Spring I put on an emerald gown so pretty and lovely. _____________________________ January 25, 2017 Poetry/Shape/"I See Myself A Tree" Copyright Protected, ID 17- 1095-851-0 All Rights Reserved. Your beautiful and meaningful imagery of the tree, for me, connects Heaven and Earth, and all that one aspires to be and all that keeps one grounded in humanity. A deeply inspiring and emotional poem that I enjoyed being captivated by, Dear Heart. Congratulations on your wonderful win. Warmest holiday wishes.. ~Susan

Indeed, I imagined that it must have taken a lot of time to get the words to fall into the perfect shape of your tree which serves to heighten the significance of your lovely poem’s meaning and artistry. A beautiful meditation.

Hi Susan, thank you for that lovely comment. I worked hard on this shape poem, took hours to get it just right. The words came from my morning ritual of yoga and meditation, I see myself as a tree beside the stream of life, my roots deep and strong in the earth, and I speak to a higher power for strength and courage to meet the new day ~

A wonderful word-painting; I love the line where the, "violin" is "crying". Well done.
