I See Her Father In Her Eyes
I see her father in her eyes
A petite replica of me
My little doll, I idolize
But, her daddy, I do see
My darling, little, sassy pants
A heartbeat in sync with mine
Passionate for song and dance
And the flow of poet's rhyme
A gentle hand to all God's creatures
A spirit, wild and free
But, though she has my favorite features
She's so much more than me
I see her father in her eyes
When her natural agility shows
Her talents are a true surprise
This is how I know
A problem solving, fancy face
Doing cartwheels in stride
Making use of given space
Despite the bumpy ride
She's all I ever hoped to be
I'm so proud to be her mother
I accept my role, gracefully
My purpose, I discover
I see her father in her eyes
And it makes me ever so glad
Equipped with skills to improvise
She reminds me of her dad
