I See

You look at what I do You just see words But when I look I see more I see emotions running strong I see a heart bared for all I see fears of not being accepted Fears of people's scorn But most of all I see I see what wasn't meant to be seen I see a girl afraid to grow up A girl not sure of her life A girl too self conscious to live This girl shows the world a face She hides behind that face afraid Afraid of what will happen when she leaves When she shows the world the true her Few see this girl's true self Most see just that mask and think its real I see this girl hidden in my poetry I see because she is me
