I Saw It Coming
I saw it coming
long before it came
Couldn't help it though
Only I'm to blame
She was in a class
Strictly of her own
I was in a class
Of a lower zone
Still I fell in love
Cowboy boots and all
She said she wondered
If I'd ever call
We tore off our clothes
Both of mine and hers
Then came the mistake -
I forgot my spurs
Ripped her satin sheets
In a dreadful shred
She swore and she cried
And wished I was dead
Pushed me through the door
Tumbled down the stairs
Broke both of my legs
They only work in pairs
I'll be in my chair
'Bout a month or so
They say that ain't bad
As broken legs go
She kept my new spurs
Hung 'em on a block
Put a sign beside
"Hang 'em or don't knock"
I earned my lesson
And I learned it well
Leave spurs on you horse
Not in the hotel
