I Saw Heaven

I SAW HEAVEN

AS I STEP THROUGH THE GATE
THE BEAUTY MY BREATH DID TAKE
THE CITY WAS ALL GOLD
WHAT A SIGHT TO BEHOLD

THEN A HEARD A SOUND NEAR
I FOLLOWED THE SOUND I DID HEAR
AROUND THE CORNER WHAT DID I SEE
A CROWD OF PEOPLE THERE HAPPENED TO BE

AROUND A THRONE THEY ALL STOOD
I GOT AS CLOSE AS I COULD
TOGETHER THEY ALL DID SING
PRAISES TO JESUS OUR KING

THE BEAUTY OF THE CITY FADED OUT OF SIGHT
AS THEY PRAISED THE LAMB THAT IS THE LIGHT
ALL THEIR VOICES AS ONE DID SOUND
AS THE LORD THEY GATHERED AROUND
