I Saw Columbia Rise

I saw the Columbia rise today Majestic through the skies A fire burning burnt nothing away A wingless bird before my eyes And this ship that bears that name Of the greatest captain who Sailed abraod in Isabella's name To find the ancient for new Perhaps from a static station will see The weary hearts of men yet Longing for a richer pole of sea Unshadowed by functlionless regret For that small step in the dust of the moon So long ago has not translated Into the giant leap from debacle and ruin As liberal dreamers anticipated. Time against Nostradamus frenzy moves Our little flesh ticking away That Columbia better than Columbus proves Life is only a dance away.
