I Saw a House I Used To Know

I saw a house I used to know, today Someone I loved had lived there once A few years gone So very long ago For a moment I was seized by some idea Of knocking on that well remembered door To ask for her I once had loved Perhaps I would be led into her kitchen While its present occupant Rummaged For a written down address. That kitchen would be new Refurnished Redecorated Remodelled Well beyond my time and memory. I must never call at doors That are for me no longer left unlocked.
