I SAW A BIG MAN TODAY

I saw a big man today
who was born
without arms and legs
who didn’t learn to beg
but worked hard for success
and called everyone’s bluff
and married a catch

his excuses ring valid
as we complain
about spouses who don’t
fold the laundry or put away the dishes

I saw a big man today
who loves his wife in every way
who stands taller than the rest
whose heart outdoes them all

this man will not fail
to teach us what is 
important in life

I saw a big man today
