I Remember You Softly
I remember you softly
That gentle ache
that reverberated through the bone
brought the tears to home
unshared and alone
now gone
Replaced by the numb
Jagging tacks in the flesh of the thumb
Reflex don't condone
Pity has been sewn
nothing grown
Bend you light around
Shadows just pass by
in the land of numb
nothing left to die
