I Remember

I remember when
you broke my heart in two.
I was so lost
and I didn't know what to do.
I begged for you
on my hands and knees
and begged you not to go,
to not leave me, please.
But you closed your eyes
and walked away
and left me alone
on that rainy day.
I didn't know that
you didn't have a soul.
And that you were only playing,
turning me into a fool.
I remember everything,
your kiss,
your touch,
everything I miss.
But now your gone
and you've left my side.
You've proved to me
that life's a wild ride.
I didn't know that
you didn't have a soul.
And that you were only playing,
turning me into a fool.
I begged for you
on my hands and knees
and begged you not to go,
to not leave me, please.
But you closed your eyes
and walked away
and left me alone
on that rainy day.
I remember it all,
the hurt,
the tears,
the unspoken words.
Now I know that
you didn't have a soul,
and that you were pretending,
playing me like a fool.
