I Refuse To Sanitise

No, I will not sanitize
Lest I am confronted
By another dreadful day!

I refuse to sanitise
I will let myself die
For fear
That I will open my door
On the morrow
To let the news in,
The suited man on my telly
Impregnating my fears
With impregnated death tolls
No, I will not sanitise.

I refuse to sanitise
Or else I open my eyes
Only to close them in disbelief,
Despair massaging my ego
Affliction reigning
Fear rising
Tears escalating
Courage retreating
Humanity falling
No, I say,
I will not sanitise.

I refuse to sanitise
For I fear that
I will look at myself in the mirror
And stare at my worst fear
The man staring back at me
Telling me,
“There’s nowhere to run,
Death sweeps the land
Enveloping humanity
With a heartbreaking
Promise of no healing.”

I want to be taken
I want to close my eyes
And never to open them
My ears forever closed
To the elegies that ring
Behind locked doors
I will not sanitise.

For now,
I will lock myself
Behind my own whiff
Of fading faith
And wait
For my day!

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
