I Picked a Daisy and Broke the Rules
Roses are red and violets are blue
But yesterday I met a daisy whose color was a mix between the two
A sight no one had seen before, but everyone had heard the fables
Of royalty that could be found and taken with one pick
But choose the wrong flower and you’ll feel the hate and heart ache through your veins thick
They said never call back immediately after the first date, but if I didn’t I would have been a second too late
However, this time I called and I’m glad I broke the rules
I picked a daisy from the garden and gave her my last name
Along with this I gave her a crown to sit above her halo
And if I would have not called she said she would be with someone new
Royalty comes in numerous forms and colors
But today roses are blue and violets are red
p.s. because forever isn’t long enough to say how much I love you!
