I Persevere

Suicide is close to me
It's there within my thoughts
No one else can take me there
My own hand it shall be wrought

I don't fear death as i once did
there is comfort in the word
It can bring to me finality
Of a life that's become absurd

I find no happiness or joy
In the little things I use to
Some days it is a struggle
Just to make it through

Pills filled with magic powders
that should help me to get back
Well, they haven't found the key I need
Nothing's been able to do that

I don't want to see or talk
To people that I know
Going out among total strangers
gets harder each time I go

I can fool most everyone
Most assuredly I can trick myself
Into believing my smile is real
But even I know I need help

And so it is I persevere
And tackle each day one by one
But suicide isn't just a word
And it isn't a cure when all is said and done

Very compelling write. Check out my -- Unanswered Cry -- it's along the same lines. I hope you feel better soon.
