I Only Wanted You

I only wanted to love you So you would love me too, Until you stopped loving yourself too, The you that I always knew. Then all of the feelings which once grew Withered away by devastating words of slew When you had chosen to let anger brew, I decided I would remake myself anew. I only wanted to love you for you So I could learn how to love me too, Til you erased the someone I thought I knew, So instead I learned how to stop loving you. These feelings are all so new, Laying low and always feeling so blue, Indeed my longings for you still stew, Even after my vision in life was set askew.
