I Only Have Great Respect For the Maniac
MANIAC’S ANONYMOUSE (inspired by a man who, when made Time Magazine’s Man Of The Year, will refuse to face the camera)
Most days it doesn’t pay to leave my abode, my home, a shack
I live like a mouse who lives in a crack
And every so often the mouse ventures out into a world of horrid selfishness
Instead of the way i would live which would be selflessly
I hunt for tidbits of platitudes that I’m really not that bad
No matter a mouse’s coat for that is in which I am clad
I’ve noticed that either I’ve gained a lot of weight or that crack grows ever smaller
And I’m in very deep trouble should my body become any taller
I don’t want to leave my shack, my home, nor the warmth of my abode
Just take on the run and find a larger crack for me
Nay, not this rodent will opt on the thought that I might flee……………………………….......................
This crack has grown so comfortable
However, there’s only one thing wrong with this whole scenario
Because the fact is I am writing this as breath leaves my lungs yet never to return
So the size of my abode is really of no consequence
Alas, ‘twoulst seem I’ve lived too long between a hole and a tiny gap
Since people are beating a path to my door because someone invented a better mouse trap
