I once was heard

Will memories I have remain?
It is my fear that they will not;
for children think I am insane,
and what I say is best forgot.

I hug this. I've written much about memories, what will stay/go. When Dad died, I searched for anything with his voice recorded. Found zero. 27 years later, YAY, I still hear him clearly. Now that I live with TBI, it's memory humor I need. CONFESSION: I commented on 3 of your poems today because last night I read 4/5 while too tired to comment. Read you, turned off light, fell asleep. So now, I say "SORRY" - all were good, enjoyable poems - don't remember names but might recognize_CayCay

I regret you were hit with so much grief within a short period of time. Five years isn't long enough to ease one missing, much less befriend sorrow when it keeps coming. Below, from your 2nd sentence to the 2nd to the last, you wrote free verse about your losses. We also record history for any siblings, friend or other that is still with us and who has shared our past. CayCay

In 5 years, I have lost my mom, my dad, my sister, and my very oldest friend. I time-travel with love through the physical gifts they left behind as I touch or read each one; my heart beats and tears form, but then I close my eyes and remember the joyous moments we shared. I write, as you do, I believe, because in doing so, we talk to others, which is so hard to do in real time. Terry

I enjoyed reading your fun "I once was heard" write. Age is just a number. I am still 25. Hahaha!!! Older age gives one the right to Act a little insane from time to time. Just ask me. Hahaha!!! Have a fun day/weekend writing away..............

Hi Terry.. l hope that's humour and fiction and not what your children really think? Ha....Though I do understand as we age some people do think and see older folk as less relevant for sure! A thought provoking write! Enjoyed...Debx
