I Need To Feel the Floor

=========================

I need to feel the floor,
I need to know the walls
are sound when evening falls
and darkness pounds the door

I need to seal my wounds,
to heal until I find
when I peel back the rind,
I'm real beneath the ruins

I need to rest my eyes,
to dream until at last
the messes of my past
mean less when I arise

I thirst for something more
but if it's to be found,
first, I must find my ground
I need to feel the floor

I remember this one, but why? Why do you need to feel the floor?

Hi SO, I've missed you! Remember, I almost never write about myself or my experiences. This poem is for my BFF, who is something of a hoarder but recognizes her problem and wants to free herself of the clutter
