I Must Write

I should write and write today
But I don’t know what to say
For the muse has gone away
And my pens has taken astray
Muse, Muse return I pray
Return to me and always stay
And when you are far away
I cannot commence to say
However my heart will pray

I should write and write I say
Could my muse be far away?
Help me call and find today
All my words she’s snatched away
Call the muse before long and pray
Bid her return the same old way
And stay with me another day
For to write I must this day
Making my children happy and gay
