I Missed You
Today I missed seeing your smiling eyes
as I slept beneath the cloudless evening skies
nor briefly caught your flowing rosy gown
so cozy curled upon my bed of down
and here I wake to hear the endless sound
a beat of drums and cymbals clashing ground
my lazy steps take me to find this dance
to watch the sea in Poseidon's glance
now thoughts of chores do call me to begin
I bid adieu, as soon the sun will grin
this day will flow from calm to constant call
but with me comes your warmth like winters shawl
