I Miss You, I Miss You

Oh, my brown-eyed girl with the sweetest dimples
The world keeps moving forward
And I’m still lost, grieving you

Two years
Two long years
I’m afraid it doesn’t get any better

I replay that night in my mind
At least a thousand times
I will never be ready to say goodbye
To a better place
When your heart was still beating softly

The echo of your laughter I can still hear
I miss you, I miss you

My dear baby girl, the best part of me
Lived in you and shone so brightly

No poem can capture the ache in my heart
It’s the price I pay for loving you, my brown-eyed girl
A debt I willingly pay
For the wonderful years with you in it

A dime you left for me
Proof that you are always near
Still, the tears flow like a river
Sweeping me away
Further and further I go
Searching
Longing
Remembering

I miss you, I miss you
Always

The hardest loss is a child. Your poem of grief goes to my heart.

I'm crying as well I should. Touching, moving and overflowing with sincere, raw emotion. If true, I pray your write provided some therapy comfort, if such is possible when we lose a wee one who is our very heart. Hugging you and admiring your poem.
