I Miss You, Daddy

I miss your tender call, Your pleasant voice of the father, I miss you picking me up when I fall, I miss all the time spent together. I miss your parental advice, I miss your wise words, I miss you teaching me how to be nice, And how to fly free like the wildest birds. I miss you telling me that I was wrong, But also that is normal to make some mistakes, I miss you telling me; be strong, You son, have got what it takes! I miss you walking me to school, I miss playing together, I miss you placing in my hand first tool, I miss you. I miss you so much, my dear father! I miss the evenings waiting for you to come from work, I miss reading from the scriptures, I miss your stories that were scattering the dark, I miss all the memories, all the black-and-white, old pictures. I miss you praying with me, Holding my hand, both of us kneeling, Nobody took care of me like thee, I miss you, a bittersweet feeling. I miss your laughter I miss your tears, I miss the good days and the hardest ones too, I miss you sometimes pulling my ears, I love you, Daddy, I’ll always miss you! I miss so many unspoken words, So many things that I failed to see, I miss the Easter and Christmas cards, I miss you, Daddy, but you’re always with me!

Beautiful tribute. So true that missing someone special is bittersweet because we recognize how lucky we were to have them in our life.
