I Miss Billy the Kid

I feel and hear these old bones creak
every time I pull myself out of my seat.
It seems my youth was just here yesterday
and now suddenly it's so far away.
I miss Billy the kid.
The times that he had. The life that he lived.
I guess he must have gotten himself caught
when his innocence got lost.
I wonder where he is?
I miss Billy the kid.
I used to take a walk in my neighborhood
and all would say "Here comes young Billy and he's up to no good".
I'd always find one to be the butt of my jokes.
I pulled many a prank on many an unsuspecting folk.
I miss Billy the kid.
The times that he had. The life that he lived.
I guess he must have gotten himself caught
when his innocence got lost.
I wonder where he is?
I miss Billy the kid.
His life was always so joyful and bliss.
I remember how in awe he was when he received his first kiss.
He approached everyday with everyone
with an attitude of having all day care free fun.
I miss Billy the kid.
The times that he had. The life that he lived.
I guess he must have gotten himself caught
when his innocence got lost.
I wonder where he is?
I miss Billy the kid.
The past chapters of my life are now distant memories
of a youth now long gone when living life was care free.
In the hereafter I hope that my youth will be relived
because I truly do miss Billy the kid.
Yes, I miss Billy the kid.
The times that he had. The life that he lived.
I guess he must have gotten himself caught
when his innocence got lost.
I wonder where he is?
I miss Billy the kid.
