I loved him first

It was a hot summers day,
an Indian late September.
At first he did not catch my eye,
nor did I notice his eyes.
It was not till I had fallen,
I saw his halo shine.
He wrapped me with his wings,
lifted my dead less body from the ground.
His 'kiss of life', kissed me alive,
that was the first time,
I felt the magic in his eyes.
His smile enlightened a buzz
withing my heart, which still
vibrates to his voice.

His love is like the wind,
it cannot be seen, but it can be felt.
All those who came before me,
and those who may come in the future,
will never see him like I do,
nor understand his ways.

Yet I know:
he will never be my Jannu,
I know his heart has another,
but I saw him first,
I felt him first,
I loved him first.

An awesome poem Yazmin, you have conveyed the feelings so very well. However if this is a 'real life situation' I for one can never understand the concept of there being 'the one'...the only' ...Life is full of options, and compatible men galore. Agonizing about the past negatively festers. I think you might have have read my poem"Love is in the Air"? However that's the way I feel, maybe I'm different, maybe an Alien? Lol who knows? A great poem and a fave for the heartfelt expression you have conveyed here....Maria :)

''dead less''? I'm not sure what you meant by this. They say that men want to be a woman's first love, and women want to be a man's last love.

A beautiful poem. I especially like this: "His smile enlightened a buzz withing my heart, which still vibrates to his voice." This truly shows how first love feels, Yazmin.

Sadly it was not to be Yazmin, but they stay in your heart forever. Lovely but sad verse about a love you lost. Tom
