I Love You Daddy

I can still remember to the day,
the moment my son begin to convey.

He told me he loved me in a child’s voice,
my heart filled with joy as I rejoiced.

It was the first time I heard him say,
those three little words in his own way.

It almost brought tears to my eyes,
my spirit rose as it took to the skies.

My daughter was now learning to talk,
learning from brother walking the walk.

Then the moment happened again,
she said those words followed with a grin.

My heart filled with joy jumping though my chest,
that’s when I noticed I was truly blessed.

It’s moments like these that make me complete,
a child’s love so innocent and sweet.

I love my two kids with all that I am,
my life is complete because of them.

beautiful -a child growing up-a living miracle--innocent and sweet so true,if we all could be like them, and i fell in love with the last two verses--loving your kids with all that you are,if we all could love each other the way a father loves hids child,we would be blessed--words of love and wisdom my friend--charma

When children say the magic words, they do so without any ulterior motives. That's what makes their love so special. They return your love so innocently with genuine affection. You are a terrific, devoted father, Nate. Great writing that fills the reader with happiness! Love, Carolyn

Great passion Nathan. I'm at the pre-kids phase myself, getting married in December but we've had the conversations. Thanks for giving me a glimpse into the awesome joy you received from hearing these words spoken to you. Very heartwarming. -Yoni
