I Love You
They didn’t like it...
My honest gift.
I guess they didn’t like me,
to accept the truth.
The expensive truth with all the open wounds,
The expensive truth with all its cruelty,
The expensive truth with no sympathy,
The expensive truth that had no empathy...
I couldn’t help it
I saw it in their eyes
They were begging for such a gift
I heard their screaming soul cry for it
I couldn’t help but take notice of it all
Every plead caught my attention
And so here I am
Here I stand
With a gift for you
I’m sorry for the lies
Sorry for the other gifts that weren’t real
That weren’t yours
But here I stand with a gift for you
You might not like me
But please like it
This time
It’s yours and only yours
