I Love Bbq

Where I come from
there are two
kinds of BBQ
so it’s your choice
for an authentic meal

Sweet and tangy
Vinegar that’s sharp
believe me
you can tell them
both apart

A giant glass
of the sweetest iced tea
ever made

Coleslaw by the bucketful
baked beans to tantalize
hope your stomach
is bigger than your eyes

Cornbread by the panful
smeared with butter
that will roll down off your chin
wipe it off and then begin again

Collards by the score
oh good gracious
who could ask for more

Make sure you’ve
got a roll of paper towels
because you eat the ribs
with fingers
that get sticky by the sauce

Then if you’ve have room
top it off with a bowl of banana pudding
the kind made in the South
