I Lost the Bid

I loved this opal ring instantly.
Began the bidding on eBay.
Thought I was getting it.
Another bidder jumped in.
Radical74.
He was fearless.
So was I.
We bid it up and up and up.
I bid it two hundred dollars past what I had decided would be my largest bid.
Finally giving it up.
In May I discovered that Radical74 was my daughter.
She had bought this ring for my birthday.

Oh, NOoo. Now though, you'll remember her ebay name! If this is true, it's a great story.

It is kind of true - we were outbidding each other for a package of toys for her son, my grandson, when she finally stopped. Not realizing it was her until I gave them to him.
