I Lost My Friend Today

I lost my friend today
but why I could not say

I spoke to him last night
He seemed to be all right

We talked about his book
I laughed until I shook

We spoke of days gone by
He even made me cry

His laughter was contagious
He lived a life outrageous

I remember what he said
before I went to bed

Kiss the children there for me
I may visit in the Spring, we'll see

I know he'd say don't cry for me
Just live your life spent happily

He always had good things to share
It made me wish that I was there

In his honor may I just say
"No truer friend has passed my way".

A sad poem indeed...one many of us if not all can relate to. Have a fantastic day and remember; this is life, and we must travel on and give thanks to Jehovah for each day ! much love, james
