I Looked At a Tiny Perfection
you said let me take him now
but I shook my head no baby mine with me
you stood there in overall blue and gown
your hands still stretched out in offer down on knee
but I shook my head no baby mine with me
I don’t how tired care am I heaven's above
your hands still stretched out in offer down on knee
as you smiled knowingly with a parent’s love
I don’t how tired care am I heaven's above
baby with stay me I know I smell I said
as you smiled knowingly with a parent’s love
I looked at a tiny perfection cradled beside my bed
baby with stay me I know I smell I said
the intoxicating scent of him a new high my heart to smother
I looked at a tiny perfection cradled beside my bed
so you patted my shoulder entrusting me to be a mother
