I Live off the Meat of Your Heart

"Have you ever seen a human heart?
It looks like a fist covered in blood!"
Thank you, Clive Owen,
I won't come closer
to your sense
of love or understanding

The vultures always wait
patiently

In 'The Jungle Book'
The Beatles sang
'That's What Friends Are For'
They were the vultures,
but birds of prey
never sing

I see dead birds when I run
and turkey vultures
are never far away

Where will my end be?
What feathered prey will come
for me, lustingly?
Who will carry my heart
when I don't need it
anymore?
