I Like the Sound of America

The children at church put on a play, While looking into an old trunk, They found many treasures. A bugle they could barely blow, An old army coat of an ancestor, And an old drum from the military too. They sang songs about America, But, "God Bless America" now I like the sound of that. The others were songs about liberty and freedom, Liberty and freedom are such great words. These words represent you and me, Living free in this great nation. Where we have religious freedom, Freedom to recite the pledge, Freedom to use the phrase, "One Nation Under God.” To see 'In God We Trust' on our money. We have the Liberty Bell which rang out freedom. There is the silence of the mountains, And the roar of the ocean. The laughter of children at play, Church bells ringing, And people kneeling in prayer. The sound of the flag as it unfurls in the wind. The sound of a parade celebrating, Those who fought for our freedom. The word America sounds great, It is one of the best sounding words I've ever heard. Yes I like the sound of America, Home of the free and the brave. That is where I want to be.
