I like the rain

I like the rain
But not really.
I like the rain
Because no one else does.
If it can make me feel something
For just a moment,
Then I could never hate it.
So I'll stand in the rain
And let it soak through to my bones.
I'll shout that I like the rain
While you watch me
Through the windows
To your sad little lives
In your boring grey houses,
Identical to the one next door.
If you remain inside
In fear of getting wet
Then you will never be free.
Hating the rain
Will only make your life smaller.
The raindrops paint colour
On my skin.

I like the rain too. Nice poem! I have noticed that getting caught out in the rain by yourself can be soggy and miserable, yet when with a friend it is hilarious, Why? I don't know. Rain is so bizarre: the falling of water from the sky! If you hadn't seen it you wouldn't believe it could happen. I remember my daughter, as a child, coming home from school excited to tell me about the water cycle - so cute. J :)
