I Learned My Lessons

It was a sad scene Yet I will sin a sincere song; I was caught in small sin Because I was tempted by throng… I got late to class on this dreadful day, So I was not allowed to write a tactical test, I followed what I thought was a wise way, Little did I know I was entering a nasty net. I was caught and someone said… expel, Fear gripped my heart and I started crying, My life was at stake... my body was hot as hell; I thought it was my last day… I was dying. I have always been a good boy, I don’t frown; I have never been caught in this kind of mess, The fear of expulsion knocked me down, I was traumatized, cheerless and helpless. God vindicated me; past record spoke for me, Then I learned to be sincere in whatever I do; I made what will be will be my philosophy, I got strong and learned not to always go blue. Hi Adeleke, what a nice and meaningful poem! Wish you best of luck in John's contest! And thank you for your kind words on "Blundering Stones". It is intended to plant more of those here in the future once personal histories of the victims are solved. Keep on with your creative writing!...Love, Gert
