I Lay You Down

Beneath the lilac in your favorite place
I will lay you down with Gods saving grace
Your calmest place you chose to lay
To take a nap or snooze after you play

And now my soulless creature we must depart
These tears I cry another broken heart
Just when I thought I had enough it was done
Darkness came and slaughtered my only Sun

You my sweet and lovely beast I loved so much
So loyal fearless the best to hug to touch
Goodbye my sweet forever pooch here I lay you
Beneath the lilac in your favorite place I bid adieu.
