I Laid In Bed

I laid in bed
Curled up under the blanket
Feets that had become warm
A cold draft in the room
Didn't sleep; couldn't sleep
Halfway between summer and winter
Nights that had become darker
Nights that would become darker
The room was dark
I knew my way; around this room
Tempting to get up
Temping to stay; under the blanket
Would be nice to fall asleep
I laid in bed
Knew how it started
When I went to bed
Knew how it would end
Eventually I would get up
Quite like a poem
Had the start; and the end
The rest
Just laying there
Waiting
Under cover
