I Know Why the Caved Bear Roars

I know why the caved bear roars
he can't sleep cuz the other snores
so he paces the cold bare floors
longs for the beach and an ice cold Coors.

He got the shot, used alcohol
he's been inside since early fall
all because of WHO's insistence
he stay inside, keep his distance.

He's stuck inside - spring slowly thaws
while he's inside washing his paws
and so he roars - a bellow thin
a roar that just brought up more phlegm.
