I Know Not

I know there is love
But not how rough
Or how smooth
It feels to touch
I know not its colour
Nor how it smell, its odour

I know not its taste
How sweet it is to rate
I know not even its single word
How romantic it sound

I know not the fun
It possess under the sun
Nor on a dark night
Or under the moonlight
I know not its ways
I know not what good it pays

But I hear on the streets
People and even kids
They say it is sweet like honey
Too sweet in abundance of money

But to me my friend
It is not known how kind
love is
I know not the joy it brings

I am tempted to say ' you will know it when it finds you' the 'you' being the person in the poem. A nice poem to read . thank you.. ...Margaret
