I Know It Was You Son
A murder of crows rose up to the sky
as I passed the tree ~ at the moment you died
I know it was you son saying goodbye
as I passed that tree ~ on the day that you died
The crow was always your favourite bird
so I know it was you son ~ as your spirit rose high
So many to take you twenty ~ thirty or more
these birds that you loved black crows you adored
On their wings you rode ~ for I know it was you son
when your spirit did soar as you waved me goodbye
at that moment
on that day
the day that you died
I know it was you son
So many tears I’ve cried…
