I Know I Love Them All
What is a bird saying when she sings her morning song?
Is she telling other birds, “Come and sing along?”
Do they form a chorus to welcome the rising sun,
or are they saying, “Wake up, let’s have some fun?”
Why do the mighty whales breach thru a foaming wave?
Did their mothers teach them, “This is how we behave!”
Tell me, why did God make them the largest things on Earth,
and yet make them so gentle, regardless of their girth?
Why did HE place pens in our hands to write poetry
to record all our feelings on everything we see?
The birds that sing, the whales that swim, all of Nature’s best
Of hearts that cry, souls that swell, all loved ones laid to rest.
I don’t know much of life’s mysteries as they befall
It matters not the answers, I know I love them all!
