I Know how to Please Me
My daily goal is ten poems a day; I have met this for six years now.
Friends whine about this, that and the other; not me. I am busy.
I play my word games for four hours a day, and I cartoon.
My art studio is full of half-painted cartoons, which I do in fluorescent.
I have painted sixteen hundred paintings in nine years.
Your children ignore you? Do something FUN; this is your chance.
Some people cannot get away from their children. Do what YOU love.
It is up to you to make yourself happy, no one else can anyway.
I keep my phone off unless I want to call out. I can call people back.
My time is MY time. I worked until I was seventy-two-years-young.
Every day is for ME now, not for reporting to a place or pleasing others.
Luckily, I know me best of all, which means I am pleased every single day
