I Know
oh yes i know,i've been there too
the same old tired line
she loves me then she loves me not
we piss and moan and whine
and tears enough to float a ship
as love becomes a myth
well,go ahead and let 'em rip
and get it over with
some cast themselves into the swells
that break upon the shore
when shattered hearts like peanut shells -
lie trampled on the floor
or turn to drink,to ease the pain
as bonds are torn in half
and bitter rift divides the twain-
we hurt therefore we quaff
and choose to turn a deafened ear
to solemn said advice
akin to him who first walked here-
surrender paradise
oh yes i know,i've been "there" too.
