I Instantly Disliked Her

I instantly disliked her.
I don’t know if it was her
Height or her red hair or
Her loudness,

But I immediately
Thought we can never
Be friends. But then
She sat with me at lunch
And I had never laughed so
Hard in my entire life.

Ever

So we became friends
And I have never told
Her that my instant
Impression was that
We could never
Be friends

Why would I
Hurt my
Best friend
Like that?

wow, Caren. I had a friend like this too, back in junior high. I instantly disliked her because I beleived she had her eye on the same guy that I did!! She was so cute. We somehow ended walking home together and both of us forgot about the lame guy who barely seemed interested in either one of us. I think her name was Chris or Christine. Sure wish I knew what became of all these folks from my past. FAVE

Thank you Andrea. This is definitely a true story. I cannot believe it but many times my besties start out with an impression that somehow "puts me off".

Love it, Caren. Been there done that :) Just goes to show what breaking bread can do for a relationship.
