I Hold You Dear

For years you watched my mother when she would go to sleep, Now I may have to watch you sleep, something a child should never have to do. You would give her courage when she feared, But not now, not today. Today you sleep and you may not wake up again. But there are ones who hold you dear, like my mother and I. Please wake up, I will miss you so, if you don't. Tonight the stars are so beautiful. If you don't wake you may not get to see them again. For I hold you so very dear, So please wake up. Tomorrow the waves will be so beautiful, If you don't wake, you may not get to see them crash upon the beach again. For I hold you so very dear, So please wake up. Tonight the moon is smiling at you, If you don't wake up you may not get to see its smile again. Just as I may not see your smile, So, Please wake up.
