I Hear the Words of Love

I hear the words of love
every letter touches your heart
flowing smoothly ever so nicely
giving you a brand-new start

I gaze upon the blood
for Jesus shed this for me
bringing my salvation to light
by dying on Calvary's tree

I see the mighty sacrifice
Jesus on that cross of wood
taking all our sins upon Him
our Lord died to make us good

And I have peace with God
this is glory felt upon my soul
knowing my sins are forgiven
feel God's peace, your lifelong goal

I have been given God's love
eternally sought me to the end
chosen before the earth began
this Christ my real true friend

(This piece I've written is from the opening verse of the famous hymn by Horatius Bonar ' I hear the words of love'. This hymn is based on the joy and assurance of salvation. Trust it will bless many with the same joy and assurance.)
